If you are writing the MAT of the NBT then it is compulsary that you have to write
the AQL section as well. 


The Mat test assesses students’ 

  •      academic literacy
  •      general knowledge
  •      mathematical skill  

What do they test?

In an effort to measure academic readiness for university, they access mostly Grade 11  Core Maths syllabus content. 

  •     It tests proficiency in such areas as problem solving and modeling, functions,          trigonometry, spatial perception, and probability

  How long is the test?

  •      AQL (Academic Quantitative Literacy) is one multiple-choice test of three hours      writing time.  
  •      MAT (Core Maths) is also a multiple-choice test with three hours writing time.
  •      Both papers are written on the same day
